Political Jackass

According to an article from the New York Times, John McCain wanted to pick Senator Joe Lieberman as his running mate. The only problem, the far right hates Lieberman. (Don’t worry, so does the far left). So, once again, Maverick McCain proves once again he is not a maverick afterall. Instead of picking who he really wanted, he chose someone he met only once and who has absolutely no experience. Good job pandering, Mr. McCain. Good job indeed.

For weeks, advisers close to the campaign said, Mr. McCain had wanted to name as his running mate his good friend Senator Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut, the Democrat turned independent. But by the end of last weekend, the outrage from Christian conservatives over the possibility that Mr. McCain would fill out the Republican ticket with Mr. Lieberman, a supporter of abortion rights, had become too intense to be ignored.
