Another Vacation… How Many Have You Had?

I’m glad he can take another vacation. Its hard work to lie all the time. Hard work. It’s just so hard. Hard work. Working hard…

President Bush has left the White House, headed for a month at his ranch in Texas.
The president flashed a broad smile and a thumbs-up as he boarded his Marine One helicopter on the White House South Lawn. He’s not expected back in Washington till August is finished.

It’ll be Bush’s 50th trip to the Crawford ranch since he was elected nearly five years ago.

But the White House is stressing the visit’s not all R-and-R.

Later this week in Crawford, Bush is hosting Colombia’s president. And next week he’s got two big bill-signings. He’ll sign the energy bill on a day trip to New Mexico, and the transportation bill on a trip to Illinois.

However, spokesman Scott McClellan says Bush is also looking forward to spending time with friends and family at his ranch — and to being able to “shed the coat and tie.”

How many vacations do you take a year? And do you take an entire month off whenever you take a vacation?

  1. The love of a long one-month vacation every summer seems to be the only thing that Bush seems to respect about European culture. Now if we can only get him to start liking some other European values…

Funny how most Americans have had probably 1/25 if not 1/50 of the vacations he’s had since he took office…

  3. Roddie says:

How many of you eat, sleep, and live in your office 24/7 when you’re not on “vacation”?

How many of you are “on-call” 24/7 even when you are on “vacation”?

    Stick to your armchairs…

  4. Roddie says:

The preceding was definitely not a defence of anyone or any political stance, it was simply some perspective that seems to be lacking.

    No assumptions, please.

  5. I don’t take many vacations, maybe 2 weeks out of the last 5 years. I am on call 24/7. And I bet I get paid ALOT less than the President. I’m not saying the President doesn’t have the right to some down time, but if I were a “war” President…I’d spend a little less time on the ranch and a little more time in the situation room.
