JOTW- Bernard Goldberg
This week’s Jackass of the Week is Bernard Goldberg, author of 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America : (and Al Franken Is #37). Why this man? To start, his book leans heavily to the right, targeting mostly liberals, when zealous conservatives are just as guilty as destroying America with their faux patriotism. Second, many of the people listed in his book are harmless to America. He focuses mainly on celebrities in his attacks, when the real focus should be on the real people that are destroying this country, the politicians, on both sides. Goldberg can’t see past his bias towards liberals and his hatred for celebrities to see what is really corroding the country, people like him who further divide the country by making outrageous claims.
Bernie Goldberg is right on. I am currently reading his book and each entry is very well thought out and explained. If you think conservatives are screwing up America, write your book and I will debate all 100 with you.
If you would like to cite a specific example of where Mr. Goldberg is wrong, I would be more than happy to discuss it.
if you read the post, i said that both sides are to blame, mr. goldberg on the other hand, focuses on liberals throughout most of the book. my point was, that people in hollywood are not the ones to blame. if the country is getting screwed up by individuals, it would be the people in power throughout the country, not the few with power in LA. I would like to think that people who run the government have more power with the direction of our country. If that’s not the case, then there are bigger problems with our country than bette midler and eminem.
John Stewart did a great interview with this guy a couple nights ago asking him the same question. An example for Nonsense Nation would be the judge in Alabama who was fighting to get the Ten Commandments statue in the courthouse. Goldberg includes this guy in his book. However there are a LOT more conservatives he could have been focusing on as well as the liberals.
Why no mention of Osama Bin Laden in Goldberg’s book? He seems to be screwing up America far worse than Barbra Streisand (#91) or Harry Bellafonte (#79)ever could.

Can George be jackass of the week for ignoring the Rove scandel? This jackass is a jackass to be sure, but George has commited the ultimate crime of “flip-flopping”!!!
