White House Still Ignoring Rove Scandal

In June 2004, President Bush told Americans that he would fire anyone found to have leaked the name of CIA agent Valerie Plame. Over the weekend it was discovered that Karl Rove (a top White House aide) was the source of this leak. However, Bush’s press secretary, Scott McClellan, has refused to answer any questions about the matter, and earlier today a reporter asked Bush if he would fire Rove. Bush did not say a word.

This is a potentially volatile situation that the Bush administration now faces. It is sure to cause the American public to lose more trust in Bush, and obviously it is more evidence that Republicans have no ethics. After the debacle with Tom DeLay (which most Republicans ignored) and now this – you would think that Republicans would jump all over Bush for not doing anything. Instead they are just ignoring it. And if something big does come out of it they will produce some phony excuse or try to make it seem like it’s not really a big deal. Don’t trust them, just look at their current ethics record…

    They will ignore it.
    They will lash out.
They will call Joe Wilson a liar (didn’t he point out George misled (lied) to get us into the blood bath)
They will call it a vast left wing conspiacy.

They will not fire Rove or Libby.
They will not remove anybodys security clearance.
They will continue wearing their highly polished flag pins and insisting they are true patriots.
