Karl Rove proves once again that when Republicans are backed into a corner they do nothing but lie and/or invoke 9/11.
And speaking of liars, Slate provides a synopsis of “The ‘Truth’ About Hillary” a book by Ed Klein which is being blasted not just by Democrats for its unfair portrayal of the former first lady, but by fellow conservatives who see the book as nothing but an irresponsible smear campaign. Media Matters also does a thorough dissection of the book.
And what blog entry about lying is complete without mention of the king…Bill O’Reilly? I picked this juicy bit up from The Al Franken Show. In a conversation about gay marriage, in which one guest was claiming that there are societal benefits to gay marriage, O’Reilly countered by completely fabricating a sociological study and falsely claimed that in Sweden, “marriage between men and women declined drastically since gay marriage was legalized there.” There’s just a couple things wrong with that statement. 1) Gay marriage is NOT legal in Sweden; and 2) There was never any study.
